Yeah, I know...I'm inviting a Flame War. Do me a favor Duck: take it as
read that I'm gonna wear the d#mn thing and if you can't say anything
on-topic, just save it...please?
Now, to bidness:
I've got a way-too-old, basic black, no-frills, maker-probably-went-bankrupt
helmet. It fits well, it covers well and I can wear my hoodie or rain shell
underneath (or both, when it's cold enough) comfortably. The straps are
easy to adjust and stay put, as does the helmet itself.
However...it's also dinged, scratched, dirty, smelly and the residues it's
carrying are starting to rub off on my gear...and ME! So it looks like I
need a new one.
Problem is, no-one out there appears to make or sell a basic, no-frills
helmet. I am NOT looking for "cool" or "high tech". I am NOT looking to
make a fashion statement. Even the low end "Louis Garneau" offerings at
Canuck Tire are a little outre' for my taste. Where am I going to find an
"honest" helmet for under 20 bucks? I have in mind to try somebody like
Cheapskates or some such, as I don't mind consignment or even used gear as
long as it serves and has none of the "issues" my present helmet has. BTW:
I used to have two or three helmets, but they kinda got loaned out over the
years...knowutImean?
Any help with price/locations would be appreciated much and TIA.
Brian.
