You work the Late nite shift, doncha?

I ride to 507 (HBC logistics centre designation) from North Delta...opposite
direction. Clara should not have cast aspersions on your ability to get to
work by bike as I have been doing it (periodically) for THREE YEARS. My
route is @ 17km one-way. If I feel lazy, I'll catch the 301 express on
Annacis Island on the way home.

If you are working the 11-7am shift, I hope you ride with lights!

See ya sometime.

Brian.

PS: I think one of us should lay claim to that yellow beater that's been
abandoned on the bike rack, no?

Actually, Susanna at Quayside Staffing. I guess she just isn't
aware of, or familiar with the possiblities of transportational
cycling around the Lower Mainland. A lot of folks seem to think
anything over 2 miles is too far to ride.

I figure it's about the same distance for me. Downhill and flat
going there, flat and up Vancouver's South Hill going home. I'm
going to head out at 9:00 PM tonight. I know I'll get there early,
but maybe I can hang around the lunch room and have a coffee from
the machine. The security desk person is gonna have fun rootin'
through all the stuff in my bike bag.

I've got my fork-mounted Planet Bike Beamr-3, blinkie on the milk
crate, and generator head & tail lights (tail light mounted on
the rear fender.)

I'm riding a turquoise-ish older MTB with a white (rigid) fork,
black milk crate on the back, Freddy Fenders, clips-&-straps,
generator & lights. If you see my bike in the rack, you'll
know it's me.

The real interesting bit is going to be the ride home, after
a shift of hard work. But at least I'll be crossing the
Knight St. bridge in daylight.

Y'know, I've never actually had a close look at what's in the rack.
I guess I'll get my chance tonight.

cheers,
Tom

Have you checked out the buses going your way in the morning. You might
be less likely to detest the crowd if you can rest or sleep.
Put the coke and coffee crisp money towards the bus instead.
